About Bravo 4
The name is a job description.
In the United States Army, “Bravo 4” is the additional skill identifier for one job: sniper. Our founder carried it. The work was overwatch — long, patient hours of watching so the people counting on you didn’t have to. That’s the job this firm was built to keep doing.
The job
We didn’t borrow the name. We kept the job.
People hear “sniper” and think about the shot. The job is mostly everything else. It’s knowing a piece of ground well enough to notice the one thing that changed. It’s patience that looks like nothing is happening, and discipline that means you act rarely — but when it finally matters, you don’t miss. Watching a portfolio well asks for the same things: know every position, notice what changed today, act deliberately, and never leave the glass. That’s why the practice is built around daily overwatch and a Monday note — the military habit of watching, brought to work that deserves it.
The gold four.
Look closely at our mark: the four is drawn as the tip of an arrow. It comes from the sniper insignia, and it points the same direction we do — at the thing being watched.

Kenny VanHouten

Kenny spent his Army years as a sniper — designation Bravo 4 — where the job was overwatch: patience, precision, and responsibility for people who were counting on him. He carried that discipline into finance, built his craft at one of the country’s largest firms, and then built Bravo 4 Financial to practice it the way he believes it should be practiced: independent, transparent, and watched daily. He’s a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Chartered Financial Consultant®. He lives in Rensselaer with his family, leaves for soccer practice on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and answers his own phone.
Brock Hurley
Financial Advisor
Brock grew up in Rensselaer, where his Indiana FFA years ended with national hardware: the 2024 National Championship in Employment Skills, a top-five national finish in land evaluation, and a state title in welding — a run the Indiana General Assembly formally recognized. Now he’s finishing his financial planning degree at Purdue University, serving on FarmHouse Fraternity’s executive leadership team, and already working here at home — he holds his Series 7 and Series 66 registrations through LPL Financial, earned before the diploma. He leads planning support, turning a shoebox of statements into a clear, complete plan. Family comes first with Brock, which is exactly the instinct this work rewards.
Kevin O’Neal, Jr.
Director of Client Services
Kevin might be the most naturally outgoing person in Jasper County, and he’s built his life around the same thing this firm is built around: showing up for people. A Kankakee Valley graduate who studied at Saint Joseph’s College and lives in DeMotte with his wife and kids, Kevin makes sure every client interaction — a question, a meeting, a request — is handled quickly and personally. Talk to him once and you’ll understand why he’s here.
Kalyn Hall
Director of Marketing and Client Relations
Kalyn was born and raised in Rensselaer, and she’s often the first person you’ll talk to here — and the reason everything after that feels easy. As Director of Marketing and Client Relations, she leads the client experience from the first hello through every year of the relationship, and she shapes how Bravo 4 shows up in the community with a content creator’s eye for making things clear and welcoming. Outside the office she’s a rodeo-loving mom sharing western style, cozy décor, and everyday chaos.
